The Palm Beach International Boat Show returns March 23-26 to Flagler Drive, spanning the waterfront from Lakeview Avenue to Third Street. Reach it by land or sea and join in on all the fun-filled attractions.
“The show has grown year after year, and it’s amazing,” said Kathy Kennedy, COO of AvYachts, a company that offers shared ownership and membership programs for yachting. “It’s an incredible opportunity for the community to experience yachts and yachting options right in their backyard.”
If you don’t have your own yacht to make it the show, worry not. AvYachts is located at C213 (with champagne on hand). A shared ownership membership is one-fifth the cost of owning your own vessel, and comes with the added boon of VIP concierge services to arrange excursions.
“It’s inefficient in terms of how much a yacht costs versus how often you use it. It’s hard to use it for 30 days, and then it sits the rest of year,” explained Kennedy. “But people should still have the opportunity to experience that luxury. The timing is right with this economy and things like Uber—people really like the shared approach.”
The company’s CEO Herb Postma was inspired in retirement to seize his industry expertise and provide the lush yachting experience to people who don’t want the hassles and unknowns of management and maintenance.
“We offer this to busy clients in a seamless, stress-free package,” Postma said. “It’s the next generation of complete luxury lifestyle enjoyment in a cost-effective package.”
Owners will enjoy full use of the fully crewed yacht for six weeks of the year—and perhaps you’ll want to book that week during next year’s show.
