Many of the standard global cruising destinations endure in popularity with large yacht owners. Tried and true is fair enough, yet today, there’s a trend toward venturing beyond the traditional go-to favorites such as the Med’s Capri, Long Island’s Sag Harbor, and the Caribbean’s St. Barths. This trend has fueled the popularity of Expedition vessels like NuMarine’s 37XP. Not only did the AvYachts teams identify this as an ideal vessel to explore the world, but in our expert opinion it’s the perfect vessel for our 50% Yacht Share Program. So where would you cruise on your 37-meter NuMarine? Here are a few of our staff picks.

1.     Greece: With the abundance of outdoor space and access to the water, the 37XP would be right at home in the Greek islands. With their crystal-clear waters, beautiful beaches, and rich history, they’re an alluring destination. Mykonos is known for its vibrant nightlife and chic beach clubs. The bays of Ornos and Psarou are a yachting mecca during the summer. Santorini, located in the Aegean Sea, is known for its iconic blue-domed churches and breathtaking sunsets. Rhodes is also worth a visit. The largest of the Dodecanese Islands, Rhodes possesses a rich history and vibrant nightlife. In addition to these main ports, there are also several smaller marinas and anchorages throughout the Greek islands that can accommodate a 37-meter yacht. Some of these include Lefkas, Paros, and Hydra. No matter where you choose to go, the Greek islands offer a truly unforgettable yachting experience with their stunning beauty and rich cultural heritage.

2.     Maldives: Although it requires some planning, more and more yachts are calling on the Maldives and the infrastructure now exists to accommodate larger yachts. The archipelago consists of 26 atolls in the Indian Ocean,  renown for white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and luxurious accommodations like the Four Seasons Resort at Kuda Huraa. A yacht such as the NuMarine 37XP is perfectly suited to take advantage of the spectacular diving and fishing.

3.     New Zealand: Located in the South Pacific Ocean, New Zealand is tailor-made for the adventure cruiser. Auckland on the North Island is an ideal place to base out of and enjoy the richness of the Land of the Long White Cloud. Nearby Waiheke Island offers world-class vineyards and eco-tours. Sixty-two miles to the northeast of Auckland lies Great Barrier Island, which offers natural beauty in an unspoiled environment . To the north lie the Bay of Islands, with a multitude of places to visit. One of the most popular destinations is the town of Paihia, known for its beautiful beaches and waterside cafes. Other popular destinations include the historic town of Russell, which was once the capital of New Zealand, and the charming village of Kerikeri, which is home to a number of artisanal food and craft shops. When it comes to local food, the Bay of Islands has a lot to offer. The region is known for its fresh seafood, including crayfish, mussels, and oysters. Other local specialties include Maori Hangi (a traditional Maori method of cooking food in an underground oven) and hokey pokey ice cream, a popular treat made with honeycomb-flavored toffee.

4.     Thailand: As the Expedition yacht trend began to take hold, Thailand and Southeast Asia moved to the top of many adventurers’ bucket lists. There are several local festivals that are worth checking out while cruising Thailand, such as the Yi Peng Festival in Chiang Mai, which features the release of hundreds of lanterns into the sky, or the Loy Krathong Festival in Sukhothai, which celebrates the full moon with floating lanterns and traditional music and dance. As for marinas from which to base a yacht like the NuMarine 37XP, there are several options to choose from: the Ao Po Grand Marina in Phuket and the Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Pattaya. Each of these marinas offers state-of-the-art facilities and amenities for superyachts including fuel, water, ample electrical service, repair services, and shoreside amenities. During the dry season (November to April), the weather is generally warm and sunny, making it a great time to explore the areas’ many beaches and idyllic islands.

No matter where you choose to go, a yacht like NuMarine’s 37XP—available with our 50% Yacht Share program—will deliver a lifetime of memories and experiences.
